mutually assured destruction

i had a good time in detroit, i stayed at kaysie's and shared a room with julian. he kept me up nights rattling his water bottle so i had to take it away. on tuesday night i went to a fair at the gibraltar trade center with kaysie, jenny, and david stecketee. there were only a few people there and the carnies were too lazy to keep all the rides running but we went on the bumper cars a lot of times, and on a really crappy roller coaster that scared dave. on the waterfall ride i got all wet but kaysie had an extra shirt so i changed in the haunted house. i burst two balloons and ran away without paying, and i won a goldfish and so did kays, and they both live at her house now. they will probably be dead within a week. after the fair we went to big boy and dave got all creepy with the ketchup. i think he can tell that i don't like him. he kept talking about how he wanted to be on survivor five and the poem he wrote about how he wants to be on survivor five.

mike wanted me to mention that a few minutes ago he made a paper airplane kite using dental floss and it flew so powerfully that it yanked itself out of his hands and flew off into the sunset.

what actually happened was that it flew like a normal paper airplane and then dangled at the end of its floss. so he gathered it back up and threw it again and let go and it went across the street and got stuck in a tree.

wednesday was the 1st of the two white stripes shows at the royal oak theater. i went with kaysie and brandon. mary cooked MY pizza but then kaysie turned off the oven and mary freaked out for a while. then she burned herself on the pizza so i ate it when she was out of the room.

at the show we staked ourselves out at the front by the stage and showed off our awesome red and white clothes and discussed the merits of "fell in love with a girl". i really love the white stripes. their album is great!

after the show i met some of kaysie's new friends, dion, who is in the wolf man band and the go, and malissa who is fun and i hope she will come with kaysie to visit me here in toronto. we went to the magic stick for a while but that was kind of boring and kaysie and brandon werent talking much and there were lots of fashion punk girls having a party in the bathroom.

thursday was the second show. this time jenny went too and brought david stecketee along. i didnt see her after we'd gone inside but apperantly the clone defects scared the shit out of david stecketee. i thought they were pretty funny. tim threw banannas and stuff at the audience and matt drazek tried to mosh it up. he was kind of successful. i think people got moving around a bit. eddie/mike showed up too but it was really weird, he yelled at brandon all crazed like. the show was good, they played the popular songs.

on friday, blah blah blah, something something, me and kaysie went to car city records and we got some records which we only got charged $3 for which was pretty keen. then we went to see star wars, it was the second time for both of us. oh yeah we also went to the pancake house and we got the scary waitress and she kept gossiping about some other woman who works there who's a total "witch" and "working with her is like working with your mother". the scary waitress was really old though. it didnt seem like any of the other employees were any older than her. hmm.

then we left for the brendan benson show at the magic stick but we got stuck in traffic coming off the freeway onto jefferson and just before we got out of it this bum came up and told us that there was some real terrorist shit going on with dogs and guns and things. i dunno. at the show dion bought me a smirnoff ice. americans are so very friendly! i also saw ben swank there. dave lawson was there too. he is in the pop project. i tried to be friends with him back when i lived in gp because i needed more friends but it didnt really work out because he is a bit of a dull fellow. his hairline has receeded considerably. ko and the knockouts were really good, so i bought their album. brendan benson didnt strike me as anything special though. oh well. kaysie and brandon were fighting by the end of the night and that kind of put a damper on things and the fight dragged on way too long and prevented us from getting home for a while. then it was saturday, and time for me to go home. we had a bit of trouble with the bridge but i wont get into that. then it started storming and i just barely made it to my train on time. now i am back and things are normal.

the end.
