IT

i started my sculpture class on wednesday. it is way more intense than the drawing class i had. for one the instructor insists that we stay for the full 9 am - 5 pm session and he also insists that we dont need to take so many breaks, just a half hour for lunch. that is a lot of sculpture class. also it is rather boring. we had this project where we were given a "problem" to solve in the form of a sculpture. the problem was "IT stops the sound in the room". i came up with a sort of violin-bomb. i do not want to talk about it. other people's responses were varied. we went over them all in class today. one referred to september 11 which was pretty gay i thought. shiloh's was a pretend art gallery that she set up because people don't talk in them. one girl made everyone leave the room and go down the hall so we couldnt hear the room anymore. she admitted to oversleeping and not having time to actually make a sculpture. the instructor made some crap comment about how she was really sculpting because she got everyone moving around and that was a scupture of space or something. whatever. my favorite i think was this non functional machine with funnels to swallow up the sound and trap it in a box. it was made by manuel sanchez or something like that, he is fat and mexican. i wish i had thought of it like that. there was also some thing with an anti depressant pill and some pictures, a 3d version of the scream, some cute homemade earmuff things, a broken drum, a couple of hands, and some other stuff. blah blah. tonight me and mike are going to see minority report, i will probably hate it. i walked home in the rain and i got extremely wet. like all my clothing was soaked kind of wet. it was like a gentle summer rain.
